Jewelry for your wedding day and beyond: An Interview with Bridal Bling

This weeks interview features Debi Chopp from Bridal Bling. Debi is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I’ve been involved in crafts almost as long as I’ve been alive, and fell in love with creating beautiful wedding items while planning my own wedding in August of 2008.

What special things do you create for weddings?
Jewelry, hair accessories

Who or what sparked your interest in making wedding-related items?
First, my amazing Grandmother, then later, my own wedding

What is a little known fact, or something unique about your work that is interesting?
I’m currently learning to solder, without destroying items! I’ve seriously depleted my inventory of useable products while learning!!

If you are married, what’s the one thing you wish you had for your wedding that you didn’t?
One? I have too many to list! I wish I had found etsy prior to my own wedding! I’d have had customized ring bearer bowls, clutches for my bridesmaids, and a handmade veil…just to name a few.

What is your favorite wedding song?
So Amazing, by Luther Vandross (yes, I’m old!)

What is your favorite part of the wedding journey?
The little, necessary things that cracked my (now) husband up…a dining room table covered with a tower of partially-made favors, the room filled with handmade centerpieces, running around the house in my veil, the constant deliveries to the front door, …every day was like Christmas! He told me at one point that I needed professional help in order to stop the DIY projects. Now that I’ve started selling on Etsy, the DIY just keeps on going!

What advice can you share for all the brides getting married this year?
Let It Go. Something (if you’re lucky, only ONE thing) WILL go wrong. Your guests will NOT notice. More importantly, find a moment during your reception to hide with your now husband, and sneak a moment and a kiss with nobody looking.

What is your perfect honeymoon spot?
Jamaica, mon!

If you could pick anyone famous that would purchase your items for their wedding, who would they be?
Jennifer Aniston, if she ever decided to take the plunge again.

If you could choose 1 item from your shop that you wish every bride could have, what would it be?
The Annetta Bracelet. It’s just perfect!
